Investigate

Dear Diary, I often wonder, how humans would react if the tables were turned. If we took them out of the land and into the ocean so we could study them. How would they feel? I'm sure we'd learn a lot about them.

Make a Model

Dear Diary, I'm not much of an artist but here's what I think a human looks like.

Define Operationally

Dear Diary, It's hard to define a human. I don't really know what they are but if I could define them, I would define them as an organism with a head, a body, two hands and two legs whose only purpose is to take seashells out of the ocean. That's all they're good for.

Infer

Dear Diary, I've been out the ocean for quite a while and inside the home of a family of humans. To me, it seems like they are pretty alive and that they don't need a shell to survive. Like us, they come in different shapes and sizes. Some are tall, some are short. Some are thin, some are rounded. Based on their posture, I can infer that they have a spine with vertebrate. If they don't have a shell, I wonder what happens to them after they die?

Predict

Dear Diary, I'm no genie or a fortune teller, but based on what I have seen from these humans, I predict another World War. They have a weak sense of diplomacy and compromise. Being out of the ocean and into the human's territory, has let me seen how the other half lives. Hopefully my prediction is wrong because I'm technically already dead but who wants to die twice.

Measure

Dear Diary, I don't really know much about measuring. But if I did, I'm sure I would have a lot more problems. Just look at the humans, they like to measure everything. They like to measure their weight, their height, their wealth and look where it has gotten them. Into countless wars. Measuring and greed go hand in hand, you can't have one without the other.

Classify

Dear Diary, Humans just can't help themselves, they just love to classify things. That's just another fancy way of discriminating. What's a univalve or a bivalve? A seashell is a seashell, we all come from the ocean. If seashells were in charge of this world, there would be alot more equality going around.

Communicate

Dear Diary, Sometimes I wish I could talk, so I could tell humans how I really feel about them. It's just not right being dragged out of the ocean and into their dry houses. If only I could whisper, every time they'd put me in their ear, I would give them a peace of my mind. Sadly though, when they put me in their ear, all they hear is me passing gas. If only I could chart or count how many seashells are being dragged from their homes, then maybe humans would stop collecting us.

Observe

Dear Diary, I hate being seen under close scrutiny. When people put me close to their ears, I can see their germy earwax. But that's ok, when they smell me or taste me, I'm not so pleasant anymore so I get even then. I don't know why humans like to collect decaying organisms. They're weird.
