Waiting for Jesus
When I moved to Canada, I started a tradition- instead of spending money at the salon, I save it to donate to missions, I'll let my hair grow and will only get my hair cut each time I'd go back to the Philippines (where haircut is cheap). I did it for 4 years. Now is the time to break tradition and start a new one. I will donate my 16 inches hair to the Canadian Cancer Society. Thanks AP for accompanying me. :)
Cozy gifts :)
Early Christmas presents from my boss and working buddy (as well as kuya JB for the cozy blanket) :)
Jingle Bells Rock Nominee
I'm glad I made a difference. I live life to do so. I can still remember during my interview when I was asked why I wanted to work with AECOM. My answer was, "I have the same commitment- to make the world a better place!" I don't expect recognition, not for something small like this. But it's encouraging. God be praised!
Comfort and Joy
We are blessed on this side of this world, that we can serve and worship freely, we can share materially, and our eyes don't have to see the unbearable reality that many are martyred in God's family. My heart grieves yet with hope, knowing our Father is Sovereign and works all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. As we approach this Advent Season, may we be reminded not only by the birth of Christ but by His death and resurrection, as well as...
W, JP, R
We only met once, you prepared and we shared a delicious exotic meal. I will never forget your kindness, your hearts for the needy, your willingness to serve in a war-torn country, your smiles and your beautiful faces which truly shine the Purest Light. Who would have thought that would be our last supper together? W, JP, R, I don't remember saying goodbye, which how it should be. Because we will see each other again where we will share the greatest feast ever at the wedding of the La...
A perfect day in the midst of an imperfect world...
Most of the time, I am guilty of withdrawing from current events and tempted to be passive so that I won't feel bad for this broken world. But the reality is that even my Sovereign God is transforming my own brokenness so I can experience wholeness in Him and as well journey with my fellow siblings in Christ. I know the world is in chaos-- wars, famine, disasters, and crime happening all around. And others may question why would a loving God let this things happen. I know that nothing can ...
Thanks to you!
It was my first class tonight this term. After a long, tiring day of work and school, I found that someone left a flower on my side mirror. Someone made my day brighter. Whoever you are, thanks to you! :)
I won! :)
Today we had a social at work and fundraising for Cancer Care Manitoba. I know it is for a good cause so I used some bill to pay my lunch and buy some tickets. I put all my tickets in one box-- Kindle Fire Tablet raffle draw box. In my heart, I wanted it. I did not ask for it. But I got it. Somehow, it is God's way of saying, "My child, I know what's in your heart. I'll give what you desire. Just delight in me."
I love home made!
Spinach omelette, home made longganisa, freshly picked cherry tomatoes from our backyard, brown rice, raspberry yogurt, and apple juice for breakfast. Cheers to healthy living! Thanks mom. :)
Boss gave me this chocolate today and called me "smarty pants." Finding solutions to problems is a reward in itself but a compliment for hard work makes it more gratifying. God bless the works of my hands.
YA Camping 2014
Dear LORD, thank You for the beauty of Your creation, the classic park theatre experience, wildlife museum visit, delicious Beavertails, and fun-filled fellowship (awesome worship, refreshing Bible Study, great food, beach walks), with my YA family especially our first time campers, Bruce- our Chinese brother, Bryan- our worship leader, and Kaye- my cook buddy.
One of my earliest writings...
My aunt posted this on my fb wall today. I'm surprised, she has been keeping all our letters many years back. I wrote this one when I was nine. My grammar was not too bad lol
Good morning rainbow :)
It's been rainy these past few days and relatively cold as well. But this morning, on my way to work, I was greeted by this lovely rainbow. After work, I had a progress exam with my chiropractor, there's been progress which is good but there's more work to do-- adjustments, exercises, readings, and all. Now that I gave up my two part-time jobs, I should have enough time for rest as well. Looking forward to great days ahead. :)
